Join the George Mason Center for Real Estate Entrepreneurship and the HITT Contracting for a mass timber lecture and case study tour of Co Lab on a case study tour of Co|Lab, HITT's Innovation Lab and the first structural mass timber building in Virginia.

David Barber will be our guest lecturer on the properties, applications, and industry trends in the use of modern structural mass timber. He is a Principal with multi-disciplinary engineering firm Arup, where he specializes in the fire safety of mass timber buildings. For over 20 years David has assisted with fire testing, developing new timber technologies, authoring fire safety design guides for construction, working with wood product suppliers and completing fire safety solutions for mid-rise and high-rise timber buildings. David assists Arup in developing a US based team that works with researchers, architects and developers in the fire safety of timber structures.
